Kotihome Jhapa

Kotihome Dham is a very famous religious & tourism site situated in Kankai Municipality of Jhapa district in Eastern Nepal. This place is also alternatively and famously known as Kankai Mai and Kankai Dham. Kankai Dham is located on the eastern bank of the Kankai River and contains about two dozen small and large temples, inns, cloisters, and magnificent gardens. Kankai temple with a garden may be found on the eastern bank of the Kankai River, about 1 km west of Surunga market.

History:

People have come to worship in the Kankai River for a long time. They feel that by doing so, they will be able to fulfil their wishes and achieve their goals. Similarly, in Poush 2042 B.S., a month of tremendous worship known as Kotihome Mahayagya was held under the guidance of Yogi Naraharinath (a towering personality in the religious and historical field in and out of Nepal) Following then, this location became one of Nepal’s sacred sites.

Recently, this place has been emerging as a captivating place where one can find calmness of mind and peace and has a huge potential to be one of the most important religious & spiritual pilgrims in Nepal.
