Mundhum Trail Trek

Mundhum is a virgin trekking destination lying in Bhojpur, Province 1, Nepal.  The government of Nepal has enlisted Mundhum as one of the 100 to be visited places on the occasion of Visit Nepal year 2020. It is also a Kiranti pilgrimage, and a desirable spot for enjoying rich cultural heritage as well as natural beauty and biodiversity. This trail trek derives its name Mundhum from the Kirant oral scripture Munthum, that entails the descriptions of kirant rituals and costumes. You pass through several Kirant villages on your journey there.

provided that the visibility is clear Mundhum trekking trail sub-Alpine zone enables tourists and visitors to derive ecstatic pleasures from the unique sights of above 8000 metres high mountains in the Himalaya region such as Mount Everest, Mount Kanchanjangha,  Makalu, Lhotse and Mount Shishapangma in China, including many splendid mountains on the Kanchanjangha and the Mahalangur ranges. This trekking offers you amazing and fascinating landscape of the eastern part of Nepal. Mundhum trail also named Salpa Silicho Trekking is a terrific panorama of sunrise, sunset,red pandas, thars, muskdeer,wild bees, lakes, several species of birds, rhododendrons,chestnuts,fields of Yak graze, pheasant life styles,and blend of local cultures.

You enter into the neighbourhood of  the Mundhum trek from 3165 metre high Temke hill  and trek along through 3350 metre high Mayur hill past Silichung hill of the height of 4155 metres and finally into 3750 metre high Salpa Bhanjyang, also called Salpa Pokhari  then step out from the region via Taksar, which has remained a trade centre of mainly the Newar community since the ancient periods of kirant, Lichchhavi, and Malla dynasties.
