Sarangkot Pokhara

Sarangkot, Pokhara’s higher and better gem, is a famous tourist destination in Nepal. From this vantage point, you can overlook Himalayan vistas and the whole Pokhara area. Sarankot is a prime location in Pokhara that offers a variety of experiences. Every sort of activity can be performed here, from adventurous explorations to gearing. Sarangkot is a small village with natural beauty of its own. Sarangkot, that is a village just across from Pokhara, is renowned as a one-night vacation since most visitors just stay long enough to view the spectacular dawn over the Annapurna range. However, this is where advisors and the guides lead people astray, since many tourists come here intending to stay for only one day and end up staying for much longer. Apart from relaxing and admiring the breathtaking mountain peaks on one side and Turquoise Waters of the Phewa Lake on the other, Sarangkot provides a look into the quiet, leisurely traditional lifestyle and much more.

The village of Sarangkot is situated at a height of 1600 meters on Sarangkot mountain, and is known for its panoramic Mountain and Himalayan views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu, as well as views of Pokhara and Phewa Lake. Sarangkot has been a paragliding destination in recent years. Sarangkot is just 11 kilometers from Pokhara’s Lakeside.

How to get there: From Sedi, you should just climb up the path (just north along the lake from Pokhara) to reach the beautiful and spectacular place Sarangkot. It is a pleasant one-hour trek suitable for most hikers. The route is well-marked, with stairs in numerous spots where it becomes steep. You may also drive up the road or catch the local bus. Expect to pay a 25-rupee entrance charge. Keep your ticket safe since it will grant you entrance to the mountain’s primary vantage point.

Things to do in Sarangkot: Sarangkot will surprise everyone visiting there with the magnificient and breathtaking Himalaya views and the most awesome and number one thing to do here is watching the sunrise and sunset that will make you feel as if you are in the piece of heaven itself. The Annapurna series, that also includes Annapurna I, which is the world’s 10th tallest peak, is seen from Sarangkot, one of the world’s biggest mountain ranges. On significant festival days, a tiny Lord shiva temple at the summit of the peak serves as the center of festivities.

Sarangkot will also give you an excellent bird viewing opportunities, and there’s a possibility you’ll spot a tiger or leopard, while they reside in the area and periodically appear. Because Sarangkot is a paragliding launch site, lodging in Sarangkot allows you to get an early start rather than just driving up into the mountains in the mornings. The steepest and quickest zipline in the world begins in Sarangkot and goes down to the valleys beneath.

Not only this, you can do other amazing things like hiking and site viewing here in Sarangkot. The path from Sarangkot towards Pokhara is a pleasant day climb, as well as the main dirt roads near Sarangkot pass through several beautiful little towns. You can either hike from Sarangkot to Annapurna Himalayas or even to Panchase and also the villages around Pokhara.

Best time to visit Sarangkot: The best and the most ideal time to visit Sarangkot is somewhere between April and June, when the daytime are still warm and delightful but the nights are cooler. Here as in the winter, it may get quite cold and frigid. It may, however, be visited at any time of year because true beauty is impervious to the passage of time.

Local food and cuisine at Sarangkot: Just on menu in Sarangkot village, there is real Nepali cuisine. Despite the gasoline shortage, all items on the menu are available, and the cafe and restaurants are almost always packed with local families enjoying a pleasant evening meal. In Sarangkot area, ‘Dal Bhat’ is a popular local dish. The cuisine served here is delicious, and everyone will go crazy for the black bean soup. Sarangkot is a peaceful and tranquil setting in which to spend time with friends and family is the best exerience. Sarangkot Village is also known for its mutton or goat curry, dal Bhat, and Newari cuisine.

Entry Fees and Paragliding Fees at Sarangkot: The fee of entrance to the viewpoint is 50 NPR. The price of paragliding in Pokhara is determined on the time of year. You may have to spend approximately NPR 7000/- each person for 25 minutes. However, for 50 minutes, the cost per participant will be roughly RS 10,000/-.
