Khandbari is the district headquarter of Sankhuwasbha district and one of the most developed cities in the hilly region. Khandbari is a city which is in Sankhuwashaba district and province number one. It has a direct connection to terai by a road which connects it with Biratnagar. This city is quite developed and it has good reputed schools and hospitals. Manebhanjhyang is few kilometers away from Khandbari which is a business center peak in the world. The thing that is a matter of big importance for the people of this place is the hydropower project which is Arun III. If one is interested in trekking then it’s the main departure point for mount Makalu which is also the 5th highest peak in the world. Makalu Barun national park is also located there.
We can use the Tumlingtar airport to fly there either from Kathmandu or Biratnagar. If you visit Khandbari then you must visit Num, Makalu Mountain, Makalu Barun National Park, Kimathanka trek and many more places. The popular gumbas and temples are tengboche gumba and budasuba temple. Mount Everest also can be seen if you travel few distances from Khandbari which the highest mountain in the world. As it is one of the developing cities so there are not many issues for food and lodging. The people who live in khandbari are Rai, Newar, Brahmin, Gurung, Kami, Tamang, Magar, Sherpa, Damai/Dholi, Kumal, Sarki, Kulung, Limbu, Bhote, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Gharti/Bhujel, Loharung, Majhi and many more.
Guwabari is one of the historical places in Khandbari which also is a landmark. Manebhanjyang park is also popular among the people who stay there and maximum tourists go there. It is said that it is very peaceful and has a good view. To have a good view of the maximum places of Khandbari and other nearby places one should go to a place called loving view. And we also have a park named Manakamna park in Khandbari where you would love to visit. If you are planning on a trip to Nepal and you think Khandbari is not such a big place to visit then I think you should reconsider it no matter it is not big in the area but the things there will amaze you and you would prefer to visit there again. To visit Makalu base camp tourists come from very far. Khandbari is not so popular but in coming there is a high chance that it will be one the hot spot for tourists as the views and facilities available there make things a lot easier. Khandbari is also very much famous for “Rudraksha Cultivation”. Especially Chinese peoples come here to deal the business with Rudraksha.
